En el presente estudio se evaluó el impacto del sistema de milpa intercalada con árboles frutales (MIAF) sobre las propiedades químicas y biológicas, en comparación con los sistemas de manejo agrícola tradicional y de labranza de conservación. Se muestrearon los suelos de las partes donadoras y receptoras del MIAF, de la milpa tradicional y de labranza de conservación para medir; N, P, K, CO2, MO, índice de Shannon y AWCD en suelos de Axochío, San Andrés Tuxtla, Veracruz. Los resultados indican que el sistema MIAF mejoró la actividad metabólica de grupos funcionales de microorganismos en la zona de recepción y filtro de sedimentos; en comparación con la zona media y donadora de sedimentos del MIAF y con los sistemas de agricultura tradicional y labranza de conservación. Además, en la zona del filtro, se observó un pH más cercano a la neutralidad, mayor contenido de MO, N inorgánico, N total, P total, P extractable y K.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Summary: The agricultural management of the soil in zones of hillside of the rain forest of Mexico, determines erosion and changes on physical and biological soil properties. The objective of this research was to evaluate the chemical and biological characteristics, in the milpa intercropped system in fruit trees (MIAF) and compare this with traditional agricultural and conservation tillage systems. The soils of the donor and recipient parts of the MIAF, of the traditional milpa and of the manageable with conservation tillage, are sampled; the chemical and biological characteristics in the soils of Axochío, San Andrés Tuxtla, Veracruz. The results indicate that the MIAF system improves groups of microorganisms, in addition to a pH closer to neutrality, higher content of organic matter, inorganic N, total N, total P, extractables P and K in filter zone.]]></p></abstract>
