<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S0187-57792016000300271&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S0187-57792016000300271&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S0187-57792016000300271&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: Debido a la poca disponibilidad de información a nivel mundial y de manera acentuada en México del fenómeno de erosión de suelos; en este trabajo se presenta el Mapa Nacional de Erosión escala 1:50 000, el cual consolida un esfuerzo realizado por varios años en los que fue necesario conjuntar diversas fuentes de información para que mediante técnicas de fotointerpretación de imágenes de satélite de alta resolución, cartografía especializada e información de campo se concretara este producto, mismo que representa la información básica requerida para que, en el futuro, sea posible estimar de manera general las pérdidas de carbono orgánico del suelo debidas a éste fenómeno, dado que es uno de los componentes menos estudiados y, por consiguiente, menos cuantificados en el balance general de este elemento. Así, este primer resultado muestra que el 76% de la superficie nacional tiene algún grado de afectación por erosión hídrica, que corresponde a 6.79% con un grado de erosión extrema, el 5.79% fuerte, 26.37% moderada y 37.06% leve. Los estados más afectados por erosión apreciable (superficie relativa) son: Distrito Federal, Tlaxcala, Estado de México y Michoacán y, por el contrario, los menos afectados: Tabasco, Quintana Roo y Campeche.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Because of the limited availability of information worldwide and markedly in Mexico on the phenomenon of soil erosion, this paper presents the National Map of Erosion with a scale of 1:50 000. This map consolidates several years of work for which it was necessary to combine several sources of information: techniques of photo interpretation of high-resolution satellite images, specialized mapping and field information. It includes basic information required for a second stage, in which it will be possible to estimate general losses of soil organic carbon to erosion, one of the least studied components and, thus, the least quantified in the general carbon balance. This first result reveals that 76% of the national territory has some degree of evident water erosion: 6.79% extreme, 5.79% severe, 37.06% moderate and 26.37% light erosion. The states most affected by significant erosion (relative area) are Federal District, Tlaxcala, State of Mexico and Michoacán, and conversely, the least affected are Tabasco, Quintana Roo and Campeche.]]></p></abstract>
