La temperatura de la superficie, medida por la temperatura radiativa (Tr), es uno de los factores críticos en la estimación de los flujos de energía. La Tr varía en función de la geometría sol-sensor, por lo que usar esta temperatura en lugar de la temperatura aerodinámica (To) introduce un factor adicional de incertidumbre en el cálculo de los flujos de calor sensible. Aunque la técnica de Covarianza de Vórtices ha sido usada para medir directamente los flujos de energía y masa, la falta de cierre de los balances de energía no ha tenido una explicación satisfactoria. Considerando que la modelación de la geometría sol-sensor tiene implícitos los cambios de áreas de influencia o footprints de las mediciones, se discute la necesidad de usar un footprint común para analizar el cierre de los balances de energía sobre la superficie. Así, se introduce un modelo uni-paramétrico de la Tr (MUPT), desarrollado originalmente para reflectancias, y se valida con datos de un experimento realizado en el Valle del Yaqui, Sonora, México en cinco cultivos con diferentes configuraciones de la geometría sol-sensor y footprints asociados. Los resultados muestran un buen ajuste del MUPT, por lo que puede ser usado en forma operativa.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: The mass and energy exchanges between the biosphere and atmosphere control the water available on the planet; thus, it is important to model these processes. The surface temperature measured by the radiative temperature (Tr) is one of the critical factors in calculations of energy flows. Tr measurements vary depending on sun-sensor geometry. This introduces a further uncertainty factor when Tr is used in the calculation of sensible heat flux instead of aerodynamic temperature. Although the Eddy Covariance technique has been used to directly measure the mass and energy fluxes in the vegetation, the lack of closure in the energy balances do not have a satisfactory explanation. Considering that modeling of sun-sensor geometry includes variation in the influence areas (or footprints) of the measurements, we discuss the need for a common footprint in analyzing energy balance closure. Thus, we introduce a uni-parametric model for Tr (UPMT), originally developed for reflectance, which is validated using data from an experiment conducted in the Sonora Yaqui Valley, Mexico, in five crops with different configurations of sun-sensor geometry and associated footprints. Results show a fine adjustment of MUPT, and it can therefore be used operationally.]]></p></abstract>
