<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S0187-57792011000100047&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S0187-57792011000100047&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S0187-57792011000100047&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: Se propusieron y evaluaron tres índices de vegetación (IV): clorofila total (CLT); relación infrarrojo medio e infrarrojo cercano (IRMYC) y relación infrarrojo cercano con azul (IRA), formulados con las bandas espectrales azul, verde, rojo, infrarrojo cercano e infrarrojo medio, con el fin de estimar el crecimiento de plantas de tomate, variedad Río Grande, estresadas por deficiencia de agua y nitrógeno, en forma remota. La evaluación se realizó, en invernadero, en función de su capacidad para estimar los cambios en indicadores de crecimiento (IC): índice de área foliar y materia seca del follaje, en ocho muestreos. Ambos IC se estimaron por todos los IV, desde el primero hasta el cuarto muestreo, 36 días después del trasplante; luego, la reflectancia, en las bandas del espectro visible, prácticamente, no cambió y los IV, formulados con estas bandas (CLT e IRA), tampoco; esto limitó su valor de predicción en los muestreos siguientes. El índice IRMYC fue el mejor para estimar a los IC, debido a que las bandas que lo componen corresponden al espectro infrarrojo, cuya saturación es más lenta que las del espectro visible. También fue mejor que el IV de diferencia normalizada IVDN, utilizado como referencia.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Three vegetation indexes (VI) were proposed and evaluated: total chlorophyll (TCL); middle infrared with near infrared (MIRNIR) relationship, and near infrared with blue (NIRB), based in the blue, green, red, near infrared and middle infrared spectral bands with the goal of estimating the growth of Big River variety tomato plants, stressed by water and nitrogen deficiency, using remote perception. The evaluation was conducted in greenhouse conditions in function of their ability to estimate changes in growth indicators (WI): leaf area index and dry matter of aerial part, in eight sampling date. Both WI, were satisfactorily estimated by all VI considered, from the first to the fourth sampling date, 36 days after transplanting. Afterwards, the magnitude of reflectance data practically did not change nor did the VI formulated with these bands (TCL and NIRB). This reduced its predictive value in the following sampling. The MIRNIR Index was the best for estimating the WI, because it was formulated with bands from the infrared spectrum which reach saturation slower than the visible spectrum. It was also better than the normalized difference vegetation index NDVI, used as a reference.]]></p></abstract>
