Su aporte original es explorar las diferencias entre las jurisdicciones subnacionales en los niveles primario y secundario, profundizando sobre investigaciones previas cuyas fuentes de datos no permitían dicho abordaje. El objetivo es contribuir al estudio de la equidad educativa en el país a través de cuantificar en cada provincia la segregación escolar por nivel socioeconómico y comparar los resultados entre ellas. Para ello, se realizan estimaciones de los índices de disimilitud y de raíz cuadrada, empleando datos de los operativos Aprender 2017 y 2018 para el nivel secundario y primario, respectivamente. Los resultados sugieren que existen brechas interprovinciales significativas en los niveles de segregación y diferencias en la configuración del fenómeno que reflejan las características dispares de los sistemas educativos provinciales y del contexto socioeconómico en el que se emplazan.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This paper is based on the literature that shows that school segregation by socioeconomic level is a relevant problem in Argentina. Its main contribution is to explore the differences among subnational jurisdictions, at the primary and secondary school levels, delving into previous research whose data sources did not allow such an approach. Our goal is to contribute to the study of educational equity in the country by quantifying school segregation by socioeconomic level in each province and comparing the results between them. To do this, we developed estimates of the dissimilarity and square root indexes, using data from the 2017 and 2018 &#8220;Aprender&#8221; programs for secondary and primary education levels, respectively. The results suggest that there are significant interprovincial gaps in the segregation levels as well as differences in the configuration of the phenomenon, which reflect the disparate characteristics of the provincial educational systems and the socioeconomic context in which they are located.]]></p></abstract>
