A nueve años de su puesta en marcha, este documento analiza, mediante observación de la práctica docente, el avance en la implementación de la reforma al interior del aula. Este balance identifica que prevalecen asuntos pendientes: los estudiantes tienen pocas oportunidades de vincular los contenidos con la vida cotidiana, experimentar desafíos cognitivos y reflexionar sobre su propio aprendizaje. Si bien la RIEMS, a través del marco curricular común (MCC), estableció las competencias docentes buscando integración, identidad y mejora de la calidad educativa, no ha logrado aún modificar los procesos de aprendizaje en el aula. Los resultados refieren que queda un largo camino por recorrer en las estrategias y las acciones de formación docente hacia una mejor experiencia educativa en la EMS.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract In 2008, the integral reform of high school education (Reforma Integral de la Educación Media Superior, RIEMS) was implemented to improve education results. Nine years on, this paper analyzes, through the observation of teachingpractice, the progress made in the reform&#8217;s implementation in the classroom. This report reveals issues pending resolution: pupils have little opportunity to connect what they are studying to their daily lives, to experience cognitive challenges or to reflect on their own learning Although the RIEMS, through the shared curricular framework (Marco Curricular Común, MCC), defined teaching competences seeking integration, identity and higher-quality education, it has not yet modified learningprocesses in the classroom. Thefindings show that much more work needs to be done in terms of strategies and teacher training for improved results in high school education.]]></p></abstract>
