Posteriormente se presenta una revisión de la literatura sobre la investigación y aplicación didáctica de la literacidad disciplinar. Se enfatizan dos formas complementarias de abordarla: los estudios que se centran en lo que hacen los miembros de una comunidad disciplinar para acceder y producir conocimiento mediado por textos, y los estudios que analizan las características y dimensiones de los géneros disciplinares, esto último desde tres corrientes teórico-metodológicas: la escuela de Sídney, los nuevos estudios de retórica y la perspectiva sociocognitiva. Se concluye con una reflexión sobre los niveles educativos que se han trabajado bajo estos enfoques, ya que, aunque algunos estudios señalan que pueden aplicarse desde la educación secundaria, la investigación en los países de habla hispana suele centrarse en el nivel superior.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[This article is a theoretical review that begins with an explanation of the basic notions of literacy and disciplinary literacy, followed by a review of the literature on research and didactic application of disciplinary literacy. Two complementary forms of addressing these topics are emphasized: studies focused on what members of a disciplinary community do to access and produce text-mediated knowledge, and studies analyzing the characteristics and dimensions of disciplinary genres, specifically from three theoretical-methodological tendencies: the Sidney school, the new rhetorical studies and the sociocognitive perspective. The article concludes with a reflection on the educational levels studied from these perspectives since, while some studies indicate they may be applied in junior high school, research in Spanish-speaking countries tends to focus on higher education.]]></p></abstract>
