El principal objetivo es el diagnóstico de las competencias docentes que utiliza en su trabajo cotidiano una muestra de los profesores de educación secundaria de la Comunidad Valenciana en España. Se presenta la percepción que tienen sobre su ética profesional en cuatro dimensiones: conflictos y dilemas éticos, deontología, identidad profesional y competencias éticas. La metodología empleada es la construcción y aplicación de una escala de actitudes basada en la teoría de la acción razonada de Ajzen y Fishbein (1980). Entre las conclusiones está la elevada autopercepción que tiene el profesorado en torno a su ética profesional, y su preocupación por la relación con los alumnos y su labor educativa en las aulas, lo que deja en un nivel secundario su papel social.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This paper derives from the project "Educational innovation and teacher training for secondary education" by the Universidad Católica de Valencia San Vicente Mártir. Its main objective is to diagnose the skills that teachers use in their daily work using a sample of secondary school teachers from the Autonomous Community of Valencia in Spain. It presents their perceptions of their professional ethics in four dimensions: conflicts and ethical dilemmas, deontology, professional identity and ethical skills. The methodology employed is the construction and application of a scale of attitudes based on the theory of reasoned action of Ajzen and Fishbein (1980). Among the findings is the high level of self-awareness among teachers with regard to their professional ethics, and their concern with their relationship with the students and their educational work in the classroom, leaving their social role at a secondary level.]]></p></abstract>
