El texto ofrece un breve recuento histórico, en el que se relaciona el terror con el dogmatismo y el fanatismo, y luego examina el tratamiento filosófico contemporáneo del concepto de terror en la obra reciente de Habermas y Derrida. En la conclusión abordo las cuestiones de la representación del terror en los medios de comunicación, sus posibles distorsiones y la tarea de la crítica hoy.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Following the renewed philosophical interest in terror and terrorism, this article evaluates the legitimacy and history of the philosophical engagement with terror. It provides a brief historical sketch, relating terror to dogmatism and fanaticism, and examines the contemporary philosophical treatment of the concept of terror in the recent work of Habermas and Derrida. The concluding section addresses the representation of terror in the media, its possible distortions, and the task of criticism today.]]></p></abstract>
