Este trabajo revisa algunos requisitos de Normas de diseño sísmico en las últimas décadas en la Ciudad de México, desde 1957 hasta la fecha, agrupándolos, antes y después del terremoto de 1985. Los temas considerados son control de distorsiones, ductilidad, resistencia e irregularidad estructural. En algunos casos, los requisitos que se comentan se comparan con aquellos especificados en normas de los Estados Unidos. Se estudian los temas de control de distorsiones, ductilidad y resistencia lateral, de acuerdo con la práctica actual, para lo cual se emplean procedimientos sencillos para el análisis dinámico no lineal de estructuras de concreto reforzado que responden a un registro típico de suelo blando en la Ciudad de México. Estas estructuras son a base de marcos, y a base de muros estructurales, considerando los casos de estructuras de ductilidad baja y alta. Los resultados encontrados para los casos estudiados indica que la práctica común en México de diseñar sólo considerando el factor de comportamiento sísmico, Q, igual a =2, debe cambiar, y que es preferible el diseño de estructuras de ductilidad alta. Por último, se hacen sugerencias para actualizar algunos requisitos de la Norma actual.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract. This work reviews some seismic design standards requirements in recent decades in Mexico City, from 1957 to date, grouping them before and after the 1985 earthquake. The topics considered are distortion control, ductility, resistance, and structural irregularity. In some cases, the requirements discussed are compared to those specified in some United States standards. The topics of distortion control, ductility, and lateral resistance are studied following current practice. Simple procedures are used for the nonlinear dynamic analysis of reinforced concrete structures that respond to a typical record of soft soil in Mexico City. These structures are based on frames and structural walls, considering the cases of low and high-ductility structures. The results found for the cases studied indicate that the common practice in Mexico of designing only considering the seismic behavior factor Q=2 must change and that the design of high-ductility structures is preferable. Finally, suggestions are made to update some requirements of the current Standard.]]></p></abstract>
