Se describen cuatro principios: la primacía del trabajo de los adultos, la importancia de las creencias parentales, la independencia de la motivación de los niños y la socialización bilingüe. A través de ellos, se muestra un proceso de socialización dinámico configurado por el contacto y la mezcla de la cultura indígena con la modernidad, así como del náhuatl con el español, lo cual da lugar a un modo de vida híbrido que forma parte de la cotidianidad de los habitantes de la comunidad. Bajo el marco de la socialización del lenguaje y la psicología cultural del desarrollo, este estudio permite conocer los factores que intervienen en la socialización cultural y lingüística en un grupo indígena del área de Mesoamérica. Además, este enfoque nos brinda la posibilidad de entender cómo las personas transforman, resisten y conservan la cultura y la lengua minoritarias en contextos de contacto con una cultura y una lengua mayoritarias. La recolección de datos se guía por técnicas etnográficas. Se realizaron videograbaciones de las actividades cotidianas de cinco familias que participaron en el estudio y, en específico, de los niños, además de entrevistas en náhuatl.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The aim of this study is to examine the cultural principles that guide the socialization of bilingual children (Nahuatl-Spanish) from San Isidro Buensuceso, Tlaxcala. Four principles are described: the primacy of adult work, the importance of parental beliefs, the independence of children&#8217;s motivation, and bilingual socialization. Through these principles, a dynamic socialization process is revealed, shaped by contact and the blending of indigenous culture with &#8220;modernity,&#8221; as well as Nahuatl with Spanish, giving rise to a hybrid way of life that is part of the daily routine of the community&#8217;s inhabitants. Within the framework of language socialization and cultural developmental psychology, this study reveals the factors involved in cultural and linguistic socialization in an indigenous group in the Mesoamerican region. Furthermore, this approach allows us to understand how people transform, resist, and preserve minority cultures and languages in contexts of contact with majority cultures and languages. Data collection is guided by ethnography techniques. Video recordings were made of the daily activities of five families who participated in the study, specifically of the children, in addition to interviews in Nahuatl.]]></p></abstract>
