En el presente trabajo se evaluó la diversidad para ambos grupos del Área Natural Protegida Bosque de Tlalpan que se ubica al sur de la Ciudad de México. Se efectuaron ocho visitas de febrero a septiembre de 2022 cubriendo las épocas de estiaje y de lluvias. Se implementaron los métodos de recolección directa y toma de muestras de suelo y hojarasca. La diversidad se determinó mediante el índice de diversidad de Shannon-Weiner y el índice de equidad de Pielou, además se analizó la eficiencia de muestreo mediante curvas de acumulación de especies utilizando los estimadores: ICE, Chao 2 y Jacknife 1. Se obtuvieron en total nueve especies de las cuales seis corresponden a la clase Diplopoda y tres a la clase Chilopoda. Se registran por primera vez tres especies y dos géneros de milpiés para la Ciudad de México. La diversidad dentro del área de estudio fue considerada como baja (H´= 1.55) con la dominancia de algunas especies (J´= 0.70). En todos los estimadores la eficiencia de muestreo sobrepaso el 91% indicando que la riqueza observada estuvo cerca de la esperada. Se incrementa el número de especies de milpiés de 14 a 19 para la Ciudad de México.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The knowledge of the millipedes and centipedes is scarce for Mexico, despite its ecological relevance; in Mexico City, and before this study, the current number of species of millipedes and centipedes were 14 and 17 respectively. In the present work the diversity of both groups was evaluated in the Protected Natural Area Bosque de Tlalpan. The study was carried out for a period of eight months, from February to September 2022, two collection methods were implemented, direct sampling and soil and leaf litter samples. Diversity was evaluated using Shannon-Wiener diversity index and Pielou evenness index. Sampling efficiency was analyzed through species accumulation curves, using ICE, Chao 2 and Jacknife 1 estimators. Nine species were recorded, six of the Diplopoda class and three of the Chilopoda Class; for the first time, three species and two genera of millipedes were recorded for Mexico City. The diversity within the study area was considered low (H´= 1.55) with the dominance of some species (J´= 0.70). Sampling efficiency exceeded 91 % in all estimators, indicating that obtained richness was close to the expected. The number of millipede species recorded in Mexico City increased from 14 to 19.]]></p></abstract>
