Analizamos las resonancias que se presentan cuando la longitud de onda incidente &#955; es mayor que el ancho de la rendija (&#955; > l), es decir, en el régimen de sublongitud de onda. Efectuamos un análisis numérico del coeficiente de transmisión y de la energía difractada en la dirección normal a la placa en función de la longitud de onda incidente, del espesor de la placa y del ancho de la rendija. Hemos encontramos que ambas cantidades presentan valores anómalamente altos para determinadas longitudes de onda de la radiación incidente. Además, mostramos numéricamente que existen relaciones lineales entre las magnitudes resonantes y los parametros optogeométricos del sistema, así como entre las mismas magnitudes resonantes. En particular, obtenemos el resultado que en condiciones de resonancia el cociente del coeficiente de transmisión y de la energía difractada normalmente es igual al número "mágico" <img width=11 height=10 id="_x0000_i1025" src="/img/revistas/rmf/v52n3/a1s1.jpg">, cuando la longitud de onda es mucho mayor que el ancho de la rendija.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Using a rigorous theory we study the diffraction of TM-polarized plane waves by a slit of width l in a screen of infinite conductivity and thickness h. We have determined the resonances that appear when the incident wavelength is bigger than the slit width (subwavelength regime). We analyze numerically the transmission coefficient and the normally diffracted energy as functions of the incident wavelength, the screen thickness, and the slit width. We have found that both quantities present high anomalous values (resonances) for certain incident wavelengths radiation. Also, we show numerically that there are linear relationships between the resonant amplitudes and the optogeometrical parameters of the system, as well as among the same resonant magnitudes.]]></p></abstract>

<body><![CDATA[<p align="justify"><font face="verdana" size="2">&nbsp;</font></p>     <p align="justify"><font face="verdana" size="2"><b>Resumen</b></font></p>     <p align="justify"><font face="verdana" size="2">Utilizando una teor&iacute;a rigurosa de la difracci&oacute;n estudiamos la transmisi&oacute;n de ondas planas en polarizaci&oacute;n TM que inciden sobre una rendija de longitud infinita y ancho <i>l, </i>perforada sobre una placa met&aacute;lica de conductividad infinita y espesor <i>h. </i>Analizamos las resonancias que se presentan cuando la longitud de onda incidente &lambda; es mayor que el ancho de la rendija (&lambda; &gt; <i>l), </i>es decir, en el r&eacute;gimen de sublongitud de onda. Efectuamos un an&aacute;lisis num&eacute;rico del coeficiente de transmisi&oacute;n y de la energ&iacute;a difractada en la direcci&oacute;n normal a la placa en funci&oacute;n de la longitud de onda incidente, del espesor de la placa y del ancho de la rendija. Hemos encontramos que ambas cantidades presentan valores an&oacute;malamente altos para determinadas longitudes de onda de la radiaci&oacute;n incidente. Adem&aacute;s, mostramos num&eacute;ricamente que existen relaciones lineales entre las magnitudes resonantes y los parametros optogeom&eacute;tricos del sistema, as&iacute; como entre las mismas magnitudes resonantes.
