Ningún rechazo o reacción inflamatoria se presentó durante un periodo de 8 semanas en nuestros estudios in vivo. La caracterización del material y su evolución en la osteointegración se monitoreó empleando microscopía electrónica de barrido (SEM), espectroscopia por energía dispersiva (EDS) y difracción por rayos X (XRD). Concluimos que el substituto óseo BioOsteo® es un biomaterial a base de calcita que no actúa por osteoconducción sino por desplazamiento y se propone su empleo en reparaciones óseas de huesos anchos.]]></p></abstract>

The evolution of the osteointegration was followed employing scanning electronic microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-rays Spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). We concluded that BioÓsteo® based graft is a calcite-based biomaterial that works by a displacement mechanism and we suggested its use like bony graft for width bones.]]></p></abstract>
