<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2448-76782008000100029&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2448-76782008000100029&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2448-76782008000100029&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen El estudio tiene como objetivo el realizar un diagnóstico organizacional al correlacionar subescalas de liderazgo transformacional y transaccional de directivos de un Sistema de Atención Médica Gubernamental en su primer nivel, conformado por cuatro unidades médicas en el D.F., bajo el modelo de Bass y Avolio; con factores de clima organizacional del Sistema, evaluado bajo el modelo de Gordon y Howe. Se analizó el perfil de liderazgo de 45 directivos, bajo la percepción de 178 de sus trabajadores inmediatos (seguidores). Los resultados indican la dominancia de subescalas de liderazgo transformacional en los directivos investigados, su orientación en cuanto a variables de resultado, es en primer término: la efectividad, en segundo lugar al esfuerzo extra, y por último, la satisfacción. Las subescalas del liderazgo transformacional, obtienen mayores puntajes de correlación con factores de clima organizacional y variables de resultado, tienen mayor impacto, en estas últimas, en comparación con las transaccionales; explicando más del 90 % de la varianza, en cada una de ellas. Se obtuvieron adecuados niveles de confiabilidad de los instrumentos, al utilizar el Alpha de Cronbach. Se ratificaron los resultados de los hallazgos empíricos de Bass y Avolio en estudios previos, como la obtención de coeficientes inversos significativos, en las correlaciones entre las subescalas administración por excepción pasivo y el Laissez - faire, con todas las variables del modelo, así como una correlación positiva entre éstas últimas. Los resultados del diagnóstico sobre el clima organizacional y liderazgo, definirán las estrategias posteriores de intervención organizacional en capacitación y desarrollo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The aim of this study is to make an organizational diagnosis regarding the correlations of the transformational and transactional leadership subscales, according to the Transformational leadership Model by Bass and Avolio and taking into consideration organizational climate factors within a system, measured by the Gordon and Howe model, in Directors of a Government Health Care System, which is integrated, in his first level, by four medical units in Mexico City. 45 directors' profiles were analyzed according to the perception of 178 immediate lower position employees (followers). Results indicate transformational leadership subscales dominance among the studied directors. Variables of result appear, according to their importance, as follows: effectiveness, extra effort and satisfaction. Transformational leadership subscales obtain higher correlations to organizational climate factors, as well as to variables of result; they have greater influence on variables of result as well, in comparison to the transactional leadership subscales, hereby explaining 90 % of the variance in each of them, in this study. Adequate reliability levels were obtained for the questionnaires used, according to the Alpha of Cronbach test. Previous empirical findings made by Bass and Avolio, such as the achievement of significant inverse coefficients regarding the correlations between the Management by exception passive and the Laissez-faire subscales, and all the variables of the model, as well as a positive correlation between the Management by exception passive and the Laissez-faire subscales, were confirmed. Diagnosis results on organizational climate and leadership will determine forthcoming organizational intervention strategies on personnel 29 training and development programmes.]]></p></abstract>
