Las pintoras compartieron las instalaciones ofrecidas por el Salón Nacional y, por lo tanto, trataron de ser parte de la escena del arte oficial. Sin embargo, crearon imágenes que cuestionaron el derecho masculino de mirar y que ofrecieron un fuerte contraste con las obras de artistas varones. Junto con las figuras en la tradición de la Escuela de París, que inundaron las exposiciones anuales, esta olvidada corriente subterránea femenina ofrece una oportunidad para reflexionar sobre los prejuicios que han dado forma a la historia oficial del arte en la Argentina.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This article analyzes some paintings made by some Argentine women artists, in an effort to make visible radical ways of displaying the female body in the Argentinian art of the period. They shared the exhibiting facilities offered by the Salón Nacional, therefore trying to be part of the art official scene. However, they created images that jeopardize the male&#8217;s right of looking and that offer a sharp contrast with the works of male artists. Along with the figures in the tradition of the School of Paris, which flooded the yearly exhibitions, this neglected feminine undercurrent offers a unique chance to reflect on the biases that have shaped the official history of art in Argentina.]]></p></abstract>
