Este personal es fundamental tanto para la implementación de las políticas públicas en educación superior y ciencia, como para el desarrollo de nuevas estrategias institucionales y procesos de gobernanza universitaria. Desde los estudios sociales del trabajo, este artículo busca comprender la construcción de la identidad laboral de trabajadores y trabajadoras que ocupan puestos de administración científica en las universidades. El análisis discursivo de 40 entrevistas activas permitió reconocer tres repertorios de narrativas identitarias: como identidad subalterna &#8220;en la sombra de los investigadores&#8221;, como identidad reposicionada en donde los académicos &#8220;hagan sus locuras, yo después los maquillo&#8221;, y finalmente como una identidad negociada donde &#8220;uno está dispuesto a transar una cosa por otra&#8221;, donde se produce una búsqueda de consenso identitario integrando valores tradicionales de universidad y empresa privada. Concluimos que la identidad y la legitimación del rol administrativo de actividad científica, son dimensiones centrales en el desempeño de la labor y para el desarrollo de la gobernanza académica.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo A orientação gerencial dos modos de produção científica na universidade chilena tem conferido uma centralidade inédita ao corpo administrativo. Esse quadro de pessoal é fundamental tanto para a implementação de políticas públicas na educação zinstitucionais e processos de governança universitária. A partir dos estudos sociais do trabalho, este artigo busca compreender a construção da identidade laboral dos trabalhadores que ocupam cargos de administração científica nas universidades. A análise discursiva de 40 entrevistas ativas permitiu reconhecer três repertórios de narrativas identitárias: como identidade subalterna &#8220;à sombra dos pesquisadores&#8221;, como identidade reposicionada onde os acadêmicos &#8220;fazem suas loucuras, eu depois os encubro&#8221; e, finalmente, como uma identidade negociada onde &#8220;se está disposto a trocar uma coisa por outra&#8221;, onde há uma busca de consensos identitários integrando valores tradicionais da universidade e da iniciativa privada. Conclui-se que a identidade e a legitimação do papel administrativo de atividade científica são dimensões centrais na realização do trabalho e para o desenvolvimento da governança acadêmica.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The managerial orientation of the scientific production modes in the Chilean university has given unprecedented power to the administrative staff. This part of the university staff is nowadays critical both for the implementation of public policies in higher education and science, as well as for the development of new institutional strategies and processes of university governance. From the perspective of social studies about employment, this article aims to understand the construction of the labor identity of male and female workers who work in scientific management positions in universities. The discourse analysis of 40 face-to-face interviews allowed us to recognize three types of identity narratives: as a subaltern identity &#8220;in the shadow of the researchers&#8221;, as a rearranged identity where academics &#8220;do their crazy things, then I make them up&#8221;, and finally as a negotiated identity where &#8220;one is willing to compromise one thing for another&#8221;, where there is a search for identity consensus integrating traditional values of both university and private entrepreneurship. The authors conclude that identity and the legitimization of the administrative role of scientific activity are key dimensions in the performance of the work and for the development of academic governance.]]></p></abstract>
