A través de una educación científica con enfoque dialógico y de la teoría socio-cognitiva de carrera se examina de qué manera factores internos, como la autoeficacia y la resiliencia, y factores externos, como el entorno familiar y social, influyen en las aspiraciones vocacionales y hacia la ciencia. Desde el paradigma de investigación sociocrítico se utiliza la metodología de investigación acción participativa al incluir la implementación de talleres vocacionales en robótica educativa y actividades de orientación profesional y científica, facilitados por un equipo multidisciplinario. La práctica pedagógica para la educación científica de dichos talleres se sostiene bajo la pedagogía comprometida donde tienen cabida las emociones y los deseos, así como la reivindicación del poder del pensamiento crítico de bell hooks. Los resultados revelan que, si bien las niñas y jóvenes expresan interés en áreas científicas, sus aspiraciones están limitadas por: la falta de recursos accesibles, las condiciones de vulnerabilidad -física, social, emocional y económica-, la ausencia de una educación científica y de asociación a modelos de ciencia, además de tener expectativas influidas por las relaciones de género. El análisis concluye que es crucial desarrollar intervenciones educativas con perspectiva de género feminista para brindar a las niñas y jóvenes en situación de fragilidad, oportunidades equitativas en el ámbito científico y prácticas de libertad vocacional. Este estudio contribuye al conocimiento sobre cómo el contexto institucional afecta las aspiraciones vocacionales y plantea la importancia de políticas inclusivas para fomentar el interés científico entre las infancias y juventudes vulnerables.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This article investigates the vocational and scientific aspirations of girls and young women institutionalized in a residential care home located in Los Altos de Jalisco, Mexico, during the summer of 2024. Through a dialogical approach to science education and grounded in Social Cognitive Career Theory, the study explores how internal factors -such as self-efficacy and resilience- and external factors -such as the family and social environment- influence vocational and scientific aspirations. Within a socio-critical research paradigm, the study employs a participatory action research methodology, including the implementation of vocational workshops in educational robotics and professional and scientific guidance activities facilitated by a multidisciplinary team. The pedagogical practice of these workshops is based on a committed pedagogy that embraces emotions and desires, and draws from the critical thinking empowerment advocated by bell hooks. The findings reveal that although the girls and young women express interest in scientific fields, their aspirations are limited by lack of access to resources, conditions of physical, social, emotional, and economic vulnerability, the absence of science education and role models, and gendered expectations. The analysis concludes that it is essential to develop educational interventions with a feminist gender perspective to offer girls and young women in vulnerable situations equitable opportunities in science and the possibility of vocational freedom. This study contributes to the understanding of how institutional contexts shape vocational aspirations and underscores the importance of inclusive policies to foster scientific interest among vulnerable children and youth.]]></p></abstract>
