<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S1026-87742019000200270&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S1026-87742019000200270&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S1026-87742019000200270&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[RESUMEN La península del Yucatán, una de las regiones en las que fisiográficamente se divide la República Mexicana; se encuentra principalmente constituida por rocas carbonatadas de origen sedimentario, por lo que, debido a sus condiciones geológico-estructurales, climáticas e hidrogeológicas, acoge importantes procesos de disolución, lo que da lugar a un paisaje en el que predominan las formaciones endo- y exokársticas. Entre estas segundas, las depresiones en forma de cenotes, dolinas, uvalas y poljes han sido objeto de numerosos estudios, al tratarse de zonas de importancia tanto hidrogeológica como histórica como sociocultural, muy sensibles a la alteración medioambiental. Actualmente hay unas 3000 depresiones catalogadas en el Estado de Yucatán (EY), sin embargo, la cobertura vegetal dificulta su localización y clasificación, mermando la completitud del inventario. En este trabajo se presenta el procedimiento utilizado para construir y ampliar el catálogo de depresiones en el EY, agrupado por tipologías, mediante un sistema de clasificación semiautomática de tipo k-medias, utilizando los parámetros morfométricos más relevantes de las depresiones, identificados mediante una agrupación jerárquica. Los inventarios utilizados de cenotes (Secretaría de Desarrollo Urbano y Medio Ambiente del Gobierno de Yucatán), de cuerpos de agua (Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía, INEGI), y curvas de nivel hipsométricas a escala 1:50000 (del INEGI) han sido complementados con las depresiones obtenidas en este trabajo. Se ha usado el modelo digital de elevaciones con 15 m de resolución (CEM 3.0, INEGI), mediante dos algoritmos (llenado y jerárquico) en ArcGis. Para cada inventario se han calculado los parámetros morfométricos: área, perímetro, circularidad, forma, ancho, largo, elongación y alargamiento, siendo los dos primeros (transformados logarítmicamente) y los tercero y cuarto, los que han resultado ser más relevantes. La agrupación k-medias ha permitido discriminar un primer grupo de 6587 pequeñas depresiones, cenotes y dolinas secas, muy condicionadas a la estructura de impacto Chicxulub; un segundo grupo de 4428 uvalas, 406 poljes, y 89 grandes depresiones, más allá del borde exterior de Chicxulub y un tercer grupo de 5176 dolinas tipo cockpit concentradas sobre la sierra de Ticul y diseminadas en zonas de lomeríos. Finalmente, se han establecido las distribuciones de sus parámetros morfométricos más relevantes, que son característicos de cada una de estas agrupaciones.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The Yucatán Peninsula, one of the regions in which the Republic of Mexico is physiographically divided, is mainly constituted by carbonate rocks of sedimentary origin, which, due to its geological, structural, climatic and hydrogeological conditions, hosts important dissolution processes, which configure surface and underground karst landscapes. Among these, karst depressions in the form of cenotes, sinkholes, uvalas and poljes, have been the subject of many studies, because they constitute important groundwater and historic sociocultural resources, very sensitive to the environmental alteration. Currently, there are about 3000 collected karst depressions in the State of Yucatán (EY), however, the thick vegetation cover usually hinders its location and / or classification, reducing the completeness of the inventory. This paper presents the procedure used to build a catalog in the EY, grouped by types of karstic depressions, using a k-means semi-automatic classification system, and the most relevant morphometric parameters of the depressions, identified by a hierarchical clustering. The inventories used here are: cenotes (from Secretaría de Desarrollo Urbano y Medio Ambiente, Yucatán), water bodies (from Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía, INEGI), and hypsometric level curves from 1:50000 topographical maps (INEGI). They have been complemented with the depressions obtained by two algorithms: DEM (CEM 3.0, INEGI) filling and hierarchical, both implemented in ArcGis with 15 m of pixel resolution. For each inventory, once each has been corrected and rectified, the morphometric parameters have been calculated: area, perimeter, circularity, shape, width, length, and elongation, the first two (logarithmically transformed) and the third and fourth ones, have turned out to be more relevant, after the cluster hierarchical analysis. The k-means clustering method provide, after synthesis of each grouping on inventories, a total of6587small depressions, geographically around to the Chicxulub impact structure; 4428 uvalas, 89 large depressions, all of them outside to the Chicxulub edge, and 5176 cockpit karst depression, most of them spreaded over Sierra de Ticul. Finally, probabilistic distributions of most representative morphometric parameters have been determined, characterizing each karstic sink typology resulting clusters.]]></p></abstract>
