Sin embargo, también es evidente que existe la necesidad de seguir explorando nuevas alternativas para intensificar aún más el uso de la tierra de labor, de acuerdo a las condiciones climáticas y de suelo específicas de diferentes regiones del país. Por ello, el objetivo de la presente investigación fue estudiar la respuesta del rendimiento de maíz y frijol al método de labranza y al arreglo topológico en un Vertisol. Este estudio se realizó en el campo experimental centro de Chiapas (CECECH) del Instituto Nacional de investigaciones Forestales, Agrícolas y Pecuarias (INIFAP). Los factores estudiados fueron el arreglo topológico (AT) a tres niveles: 1 × 1, 2 × 2 y 2 × 2sa (surco angosto) y método de labranza (MDL) a dos niveles: labranza de conservación (LC) y labranza convencional (LCV), en combinación factorial, bajo un diseño experimental completamente al azar con dos repeticiones. En un año en el que se presentó sequía, se obtuvieron diferencias estadísticas (P &#8804; 0.05) entre MDL para el rendimiento de maíz y el más alto se obtuvo en los tratamientos con LC. El rendimiento de frijol fue afectado por la interacción AT × MDL (P &#8804; 0.05). La ERT máxima se obtuvo con el tratamiento 2 × 2 LCV. La reducción del ancho del surco aún con una mayor densidad de población y dosis de fertilización por m2 con el AT 2 × 2sa no aumentó significativamente el rendimiento en las condiciones que se llevó a cabo el trabajo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Summary The intensification with the milpa system interspersed with fruit trees (MIAF) is achieving the objectives set: food security, increasing the relative efficiency of the land (LER), protecting the soil against erosion and significantly increasing net family income. However, it is also evident that there is a need to continue exploring new alternatives to further intensify the use of arable land, according to the specific climatic and soil conditions of different regions of the country. Therefore, the objective of this research was to study the response of corn and bean yield to the tillage method and the topological arrangement in a Vertisol. This study was carried out in the experimental field center of Chiapas (CECECH) of the National Institute of Forestry, Agricultural and Livestock Research (INIFAP). The factors studied were the topological arrangement (AT) at three levels: 1 × 1, 2 × 2 and 2 × 2sa (narrow furrow) and tillage method (MDL) at two levels: conservation tillage (LC) and conventional tillage (LCV), in factorial combination, under a completely randomized experimental design with two repetitions. In a year in which drought occurred, statistical differences (P &#8804; 0.05) were obtained between MDL for corn yield and the highest was obtained in the LC treatments. Bean yield was affected by the AT × MDL interaction (P &#8804; 0.05). The maximum LER was obtained with the 2 × 2 LCV treatment. The reduction of the furrow width even with a higher population density and fertilization dose per m2 with the AT 2 × 2sa did not significantly increase the yield under the conditions in which the work was carried out.]]></p></abstract>
