El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar la respuesta de dos dosis de lixiviado de lombriz con dos métodos de riego en el rendimiento del chile jalapeño (Capsicum annuum) y algunas características químicas del suelo. El experimento se llevó acabo en la Facultad de Agricultura y Zootecnia de la Universidad Juárez de Durango (UJED), México en el año 2013 y 2014. Las unidades experimentales fueron distribuidas al azar con cuatro repeticiones bajo un diseño de parcelas divididas, donde la parcela principal fue el método de riego, por goteo al 60% de la evaporación (EV) y superficial por surcos al 80% de EV, la subparcela fue la fertilización de 2400 y 4800 Lha-1 de lixiviado de lombriz. Se encontró un rendimiento de fruto mayor con riego por goteo en ambos años de estudio (P &lt; 0.05). La lámina de agua aplicada en riego por goteo, al 60% de EV, fue de 60 cm en 2013 y 51 cm en 2014; en riego superficial, al 80% de EV, 78 cm en 2013 y 63 cm en 2014. El efecto de la fertilización en el rendimiento de fruto fue solo en el año 2014 con mayor producción con la aplicación de 4800 L ha-1 (P &lt; 0.05). La materia orgánica en 2013 fue menor en el tratamiento de 4800 L ha-1 en 0-30 cm del suelo con 1.69 y 2% con 2400 L ha-1 y 1.84% en el tratamiento de fertilizante químico. A la profundidad de 30-60 cm en el año 2014 presento diferencia significativa en riego por goteo con 1.54% contra 1.71% del riego superficial (P &lt; 0.05); el pH y conductividad eléctrica (CE) también en la misma profundidad y mismo año investigado presentaron diferencia significativa siendo más altos en riego por goteo (P &lt; 0.05). El lixiviado de lombriz con riego por goteo redujo la evaporación ahorrando 15.22% de agua y la mayor frecuencia de riegos en el área radicular de la planta, generó un mayor rendimiento.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Summary: Worm leachate and water use efficiency are important factors in food production. The objective of the study was to evaluate the response of jalapeño pepper (Capsicum annuum) to two doses of worm leachate under two irrigation methods and some soil chemical variables. This study was conducted at the Facultad de Agricultura y Zootecnia de la UJED, Mexico, in 2013 and 2014. The experimental design was split-plots randomly distributed with four replications. The main plot was irrigation method, drip irrigation at 60% of the evaporation (EV) and surface irrigation at 80% EV. The subplot was fertilization at 2400 and 4800 L ha-1 worm leachate (worm Tea). The drip irrigation treatment had higher fruit yield than surface irrigation in both years (P &lt; 0.05). Fruit yield of the worm leachate treatment of 4800 L ha-1 was similar to the 2400 L ha-1 treatment in 2013 but was higher in 2014 (P &lt; 0.05). Organic matter in the irrigation factor was significantly different in soil depth of 0-30 cm: drip irrigation treatment with 1.61% vs 1.43% in superficial irrigation in 2014 (P &lt; 0.05). Also, pH and electrical conductivity (EC) had higher values in the drip irrigation treatment at soil depth of 0-30 cm in 2014 (P &lt; 0.05). Drip irrigated plots were watered with 60% of the amount of evaporation for a total of 60 cm in 2013 and 51 cm in 2014. Surface water irrigated was applied to complete 80% of the evaporation for a total of 78 cm of water in 2013 and 63 cm in 2014. The worm leachate with drip irrigation reduced evaporation, with a water savings of 15.22%, and the higher frequency of irrigation in the root area of the plant produced higher yield.]]></p></abstract>
