Se comentan varios puntos que debemos valorar como profesionales de salud, así como finalmente se analiza nuestra actividad en medicina familiar para dar el ejemplo. La prescripción de ejercicio físico es un reto, pero también una obligación por parte del médico familiar para mejorar el estado de salud y bienestar de los pacientes que atiende, independientemente del grupo etario y condición social; esta recomendación debe ser individualizada y considerar todos los recursos que ayuden a lograrlo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: This essay analyzes and discusses the importance of physical exercise and its prescription from the first level of care by the family physician. Several points that we must value as health professionals are discussed, as well as finally our activity in family medicine is analyzed to set an example. The prescription of physical exercise is a challenge, but also an obligation by the family physician to improve overall health and well-being of the patients he attends regardless of age group and social status; this recommendation must be individualized and consider all the resources that help to achieve it.]]></p></abstract>
