Objetivo: determinar si existe incremento en el Qt en el paciente con choque hemorrágico en la Fase II, con la administración de Hidroxi-etil-almidón al 10%.  Material y método: se realizó un estudio de serie de casos, prospectico y longitudinal, en paciente con choque hemorrágico en la Fase II. A los pacientes se les administró Hidroxi-etil-almidón al 10% a razón de 15 mL/kg, como dosis única y se les evaluó en tres etapas, las variables del gasto cardiaco y de la oxigenación sistémica, mediante ANOVA de medidas repetidas con P&lt;0.05.  Resultados: se estudiaron un total de 20 pacientes (N=20). Se observó un aumento en el Qt y la disponibilidad de oxígeno (DO2), principalmente en las etapas II y III del estudio, sin repercusión estadística. El consumo de oxígeno (VO2), se mantuvo constante durante todo el estudio. La tasa de extracción de Oxígeno (O2ER), se observó en rango normal y las resistencias periféricas totales (RPT), tuvieron un descenso sin evidencia significativa.  Discusión:  El Qt, DO2, y la oxigenación sistémica tuvieron un comportamiento adecuado. No datos de deuda de oxígeno durante el estudio. Se concluye que el Hidroxi-etil-almidón al 10%, resulto de utilidad y sostiene el gasto cardiaco en los pacientes con choque hemorrágico en la Fase II.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Maintenance of Cardiac Output (Qt), in patients with hemorrhagic shock in Phase II, is crucial to prevent multiple organ failure evolve in the immediate postoperative period.  Objective: To determine if there is an increase in cardiac output in patients with hemorrhagic shock in Phase II, with the administration of Hydroxy ethyl 10% starch.  Material and Methods: A prospective and longitudinal study of cases, in patients with hemorrhagic shock in phase II was performed. Patients were administered hydroxyethyl starch 10% at 15 mL/kg as a single dose and were evaluated in three stages, the variables of cardiac output and systemic oxygen by repeated measures ANOVA P &lt;0.05.  Results: A total of 20 patients (N = 20) were studied. An increase in Qt and the availability of oxygen (DO2), mainly in stages II and III of the study, no statistical impact was observed. The oxygen consumption (VO2), remained constant throughout the study. The oxygen extraction rate (O2ER), was observed in normal range and total peripheral resistance (TPR), they had a descent without significant evidence.  Discussion: Qt, DO2, and systemic oxygenation were appropriate behavior. No oxygen debt data for the study. It is concluded that the hydroxyl-ethyl starch 10%, was useful and supports cardiac output in patients with hemorrhagic shock in Phase II.]]></p></abstract>
