Se trata también de una obra erudita (novela y ensayo) que se nutre de sí misma y de una tradición ancha y vasta. Este trabajo analiza la construcción novelesca de Desierto Sonoro de la escritora mexicana Valeria Luiselli en tanto ejercicio de fusión entre ficción y dicción, puesto que la novela mantiene una relación intrínseca con el ensayo que la precede, Los niños perdidos, de la misma autora. Se analizarán las huellas, en esta novela, de las múltiples adaptaciones, esencialmente a nivel de tropos y figuras, así como los principales mecanismos escriturales que marcan el proceso de transformación del archivo documental en obra de ficción. La óptica textualista privilegiada no implicará descartar lo ideológico o político. Al contrario, se buscará demostrar la manera en que lo político tiene entera cabida o se cristaliza a través de lo subjetivo y lo sentimental.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Valeria Luiselli is characterised by a compact oeuvre in which the neo-fantastical and the absurd cohabitate, as well as the intimate and experiential constructions. It is also an erudite work (novels and essays), that feeds on itself as well as on an expansive tradition. This work analyzes the construction of Mexican writer Valeria Luiselli&#8217;s novel Desierto Sonoro as an exercise in marrying fiction and nonfiction, given the novel&#8217;s continued entanglement with the essay that precedes it, Los niños perdidos, also by Luiselli. We will analyse in this novel the imprints of the multiple adaptations, mostly at the level of tropes and archetypal figures, as well as the main writerly principles that underwrite the transformation of archival documents into a work of fiction. The chosen textual framework does not imply the exclusion of ideological or political concerns. to be found in this novel, Rather, this work will aim to demonstrate how the political not only fully belongs to, but is crystallised in the subjective and the sentimental.]]></p></abstract>
