El objetivo fue determinar el efecto de la disposición de muestra en el biodigestor, así como caracterizar in vitro hojas y frutos maduros e inmaduros de Genipa americana. En un vial, la muestra se colocó de forma directa o en una bolsa de poli-seda; 40 mL de medio de cultivo anaerobio, bajo flujo de CO2 y 10 mL de fluido ruminal fresco como inóculo. Los viales se incubaron 72 h a 39 °C. La producción de biogás se midió a 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 24, 48 y 72 h y la degradación de materia seca (DMS) a las 72 h. El análisis estadístico fue un diseño completamente al azar con arreglo factorial 3 x 2, con tipo de muestra (hoja, fruto inmaduro y maduro) y disposición (directo o en bolsa) como factores. La producción de biogás no presentó interacción entre factores (P &gt; 0.05); pero la DMS presentó interacción (P &#8804; 0.05). La producción de biogás no mostró diferencias en la disposición de la muestra (P &gt; 0.05), a excepción de las 2 h (P &#8804; 0.05). Las hojas presentaron menor producción de biogás acumulado (P &#8804; 0.05). La DMS fue diferente en la disposición de los frutos maduros e inmaduros (P &#8804; 0.05), mientras en hojas no hubo diferencias por disposición (P &#8804; 0.05). La disposición de la muestra afectó los valores de la DMS y la producción de biogás a las 2 h en los frutos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract The protocols of the in vitro gas production technique are intended to be standardized when evaluating tree species for feeding ruminants. The objective was to determine the effect of sample arrangement in the biodigester, as well as to characterize in vitro mature and immature leaves and fruits of Genipa americana. In a vial, the sample was placed directly or in a poly-silk bag; 40 mL of anaerobic culture medium, under CO2 flow and 10 mL of fresh rumen fluid as inoculum. The vials were incubated 72 h at 39 °C. Biogas production was measured at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 10, 12, 24, 48, and 72 h and dry matter degradation (DMD) at 72 h. The statistical analysis was a completely randomized design with a 3 x 2 factorial arrangement, with type of sample (leaf, immature and mature fruit) and disposition (direct or bagged) as factors. Biogas production showed no interaction between factors (P &gt; 0.05); but DMD showed interaction (P &#8804; 0.05).
