</abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en">
Abstract Based on data from the survey Allgemeine Bevölkerungsumfrage der Sozialwissenschaften 2016, the present article sets out to predict intercultural capital embodiment in terms of foreign language reading practices amongst a nationally representative sample of contemporary Germans aged 18 or older and who were holders of German nationality at birth. The corresponding binary logistic regression analysis reveals a particularly marked statistically significant impact of respondents’ perceived social class membership and their level of formal education. The statistically measured explanatory impact of the respective socio-educational variables powerfully illustrates the epistemological pertinence of a probabilistic and multifactorial approach to the study of the application of embodied intercultural capital -even in countries that might be considered wealthy and democratically consolidated, like the Federal Republic of Germany-.
</abstract>
