Ante el incremento en la extracción de esta materia prima, se han desarrollado algunos estudios sobre diagnósticos tecnológicos, desde diferentes enfoques disciplinarios, aristas y denominaciones. Sin embargo, aún son insuficientes los estudios científicos con registros de datos oficiales sobre el crecimiento nacional de dicho sector, el desarrollo tecnológico, ambiental y de seguridad, que emplean para su producción en las canteras. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue hacer un diagnóstico que analice de forma integral las tecnologías existentes, y determine el nivel técnico y el desempeño ambiental y de seguridad, así como el aspecto socioeconómico de la cantera La Inagua, ubicada en Cuba oriental, utilizando parcialmente la matriz de evaluación de canteras de áridos (mECA), que compara el grado de implementación de las mejores técnicas disponibles, para cada uno de los aspectos valorados. En este diagnóstico se usó la variable carga y transporte, y sus respectivos indicadores que componen la matriz. Los resultados mostraron que el estado tecnológico de esta cantera es catalogado como regular, de acuerdo a un valor de 100 %, obtenido en el aspecto técnico. El valor de 73 %, alcanzado en el aspecto medioambiental y de seguridad, reflejó deficiencias en el empleo de técnicas adecuadas para mitigar los impactos medioambientales, así como insuficiencia de medios de seguridad individual. La inexistencia de inversiones en la cantera se muestra a partir del valor de 6 %, derivado del aspecto socioeconómico; y finalmente, se obtuvo el valor del índice mECA de 43.6 %, en la evaluación de la cantera, lo que permitió observar que el desempeño de esta fue regular, por lo que se requiere elevar la eficiencia y calidad de su producción y disminuir su impacto ambiental.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[ABSTRACT The growing demand for construction aggregates in Cuba is one of the main sources of economic growth. Given the increase in the extraction of this raw material, some studies on technological diagnostics have been developed, from different disciplinary approaches, edges, and denominations. However, there are still insufficient scientific studies with records of official data on the national growth of this sector and the technological, environmental, and safety development that they use for their production in quarries. The objective of the present work was to make an integral technological diagnosis that analyzes the existing technologies and determines the technical level, and the environmental and safety performance as well as the socioeconomic impact of &#8220;La Inagua&#8221; quarry, located in Eastern Cuba. To achieve this aim, we partially used the matrix of evaluation of aggregate quarries (mECA), which compares the degree of implementation of the best available techniques, for each of the aspects assessed. In this diagnosis, the load and transport variable and the indicators that constitute the matrix were used. The results obtained showed that the technological status of this quarry can be classified as regular, since a value of 100 % was obtained in the technical aspect. The value of 73 %, reached in the environmental and technological aspect, revealed deficiencies in the use of adequate techniques to mitigate the environmental impacts, as well as an insufficiency of individual safety equipment. The inexistence of investments in the quarry is shown from the value of 6 %, derived from the socioeconomic aspect. Finally, a 43.6 % value of the quarry evaluation matrix index was obtained, indicating a regular performance of the studied quarry. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the efficiency and quality of its production and reduce its environmental impact.]]></p></abstract>
