<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2007-40852017000600475&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2007-40852017000600475&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2007-40852017000600475&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen  ANTECEDENTES: Las fístulas vesicovaginales suelen originarse por procedimientos de histerectomía abdominal abierta o laparoscópica, histerectomía vaginal o colporrafia anterior, incluso por comorbilidades, radioterapia o algún traumatismo pélvico.  CASO CLÍNICO:  Paciente de 46 años de edad, con antecedente de histerectomía abdominal secundaria a miomatosis uterina de medianos elementos. Después de la intervención quirúrgica se observó la salida de orina a través de la vagina que fue reparada en dos cirugías distintas. Debido a la persistencia de la fuga de orina, se realizó una cistografía miccional que evidenció una imagen radio-opaca sugerente de trayecto fistuloso, entre la vejiga y la vagina, de 0.5 cm aproximadamente. Después de establecer el diagnóstico se decidió la resección y cierre de la fístula vesicovaginal asistida por robot, cistoscopia con colocación de catéter mono J y canalización del trayecto fistuloso con catéter Open End 6 French.  CONCLUSIÓN:  La reparación de una fístula vesicovaginal con cirugía de mínima invasión (asistida por robot) es una técnica efectiva, segura, viable y reproducible, con ventajas de menor morbilidad, estancia hospitalaria corta y menor curva de aprendizaje respecto de otros métodos quirúrgicos, como el abordaje abierto o laparoscópico.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  BACKGROUND:  Vesicovaginal fistulas are usually secondary to open or laparoscopic abdominal hysterectomy, vaginal hysterectomy, or anterior colporrhaphy. They occur in women with comorbidities, as well as in those that have undergone radiotherapy or had pelvic trauma.  CLINICAL CASE:  A 46-year-old woman had a past surgical history of abdominal hysterectomy secondary to medium-element uterine myomatosis. After the surgical intervention, urine leakage through the vagina was observed and repaired on two different occasions. Due to persistent leakage, micturating cystography was done that revealed a radio-opaque image suggestive of an approximately 5-cm fistulous tract between the bladder and the vagina. Recurrent vesicovaginal fistula was diagnosed, which was finally treated through roboticassisted resection and closure of the fistula, plus cystoscopy with the placement of a mono-J catheter and canalization of the fistulous tract with a 6 Fr open-end catheter.  CONCLUSION:  Minimally invasive (robotic-assisted) surgical repair of vesicovaginal fistula is an effective, safe, viable, and reproducible technique, with the advantages of less morbidity, shorter hospital stay, and a shorter learning curve, compared with the open or laparoscopic techniques.]]></p></abstract>
