Se utiliza el triángulo de Clark ampliado para explorar estas transformaciones. Los resultados identifican las trayectorias post-reformas de ambos países. En Chile, las reformas regulatorias reforzaron el papel estatal como evaluador y financiador, se consolida un mercado privado más regulado y se reduce la influencia de la academia. En Ecuador, disminuyeron la dominación estatal pero fortalecieron su rol evaluador, aumentando la influencia de las instituciones de educación superior y la academia, y promoviendo una gestión más gerencial en las instituciones privadas. Las reformas resultaron en una mayor intervención estatal en Chile y una menor en Ecuador, con cambios significativos en ambos países.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo Este estudo examina as mudanças na governança da educação superior na América Latina, desenvolvendo uma abordagem conceitual para analisar as reformas e seus impactos no Chile e no Equador, destacando suas semelhanças e diferenças. O triângulo de Clark ampliado é usado para explorar essas transformações. Os resultados identificam as trajetórias pós-reforma de ambos os países. No Chile, as reformas regulatórias fortaleceram o papel do Estado como avaliador e financiador, consolidando um mercado privado mais regulado e reduzindo a influência da academia. No Equador, eles diminuíram a dominação do Estado, mas fortaleceram seu papel avaliativo, aumentando a influência das instituições de ensino superior e da academia e promovendo uma gestão mais gerencial nas instituições privadas. As reformas resultaram em mais intervenção estatal no Chile e menos no Equador, com mudanças significativas em ambos os países.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This study reviews changes in higher education governance in Latin America, developing a conceptual approach to analyze the reforms and their impacts in Chile and Ecuador, highlighting their similarities and differences. The extended Clark's triangle is used to explore these transformations. The results identify the post-reform trajectories of both countries. In Chile, the regulatory reforms enhanced the role of the state as evaluator and funder, consolidated a more regulated private market, and reduced the influence of the academic sector. In Ecuador, they reduced the state&#8217;s control but strengthened its role as evaluating agency, increasing the influence of higher education institutions and universities, and promoting more managerial approaches in private higher education institutions. The reforms brought about greater state intervention in Chile and less state intervention in Ecuador, with significant changes in both countries.]]></p></abstract>
