<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2007-09342019000801721&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2007-09342019000801721&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2007-09342019000801721&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Dada la importancia de los maíces criollos para los pequeños agricultores de México y la necesidad de aprovechar la humedad en los cultivos de temporal, el objetivo de este trabajo fue estudiar los efectos de tratamientos de osmoacondicionamiento en semillas de maíz sobre la emergencia, crecimiento y fenología de las plantas resultantes. Los tratamientos fueron agua y una solución de AG3 a 0.3 g L-1 con dos tiempos de exposición (12 y 18 h) en maíces criollos (Mején, Chalqueño y Negrito) y una variedad comercial (VS-536). Las variables observadas fueron: porcentaje y velocidad de emergencia, crecimiento, materia seca, días a floración y concentración NPK. El diseño experimental en bloques completos al azar con arreglo factorial (4 x 2 x 2) tuvo cuatro repeticiones y cuatro testigos. Los resultados mostraron que el factor variedad fue altamente significativo (p&#8804; 0.001) para el porcentaje emergencia, donde el criollo Negrito con 12 h mostró el valor más alto (76.8%) 3 días después de la siembra (dds), aunque el Mején mostró mayor velocidad de emergencia (4.6 semillas día-1) y mayor tasa de crecimiento (4.32 cm día-1 planta-1) a los 11 dds. Por otra parte, el criollo Chalqueño alcanzó la mayor ganancia de materia seca (0.71 g día-1 planta-1) a los 25 dds, mientras que el Mején mostró menor número de días a floración masculina y femenina (48 y 55, respectivamente). La mayor concentración de NPK en planta se encontró en la variedad VS-536. Se concluye que los tratamientos de osmoacondicionamiento inducen efectos positivos sobre la emergencia, crecimiento y fenología de los maíces estudiados.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Given the importance of creole maize for small farmers in Mexico and the need to take advantage of moisture in temporary crops, the objective of this work was to study the effects of osmoaconditioning treatments on maize seeds on the emergence, growth and phenology of the resulting plants. The treatments were water and a solution of AG3 at 0.3 g L-1 with two exposure times (12 and 18 h) in creole maize (Mején, Chalqueño and Negrito) and a commercial variety (VS-536). The variables observed were percentage and speed of emergency, growth, dry matter, days to flowering and NPK concentration. The experimental design in randomized complete blocks with factorial arrangement (4 x 2 x 2) had four repetitions and four control. The results showed that the variety factor was highly significant (p&#8804; 0.001) for the emergency percentage, where the Negrito creole with 12 h showed the highest value (76.8%) 3 days after sowing (dds), although the Mején showed higher emergency speed (4.6 seeds day-1) and higher growth rate (4.32 cm day-1 plant-1) at 11 dds. On the other hand, the Chalqueño creole reached the highest gain of dry matter (0.71 g day-1 plant-1) at 25 dds, while the Mején showed a smaller number of days to male and female flowering (48 and 55, respectively). The highest concentration of NPK in the plant was found in the VS-536 variety.
