<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2007-09342018000804235&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2007-09342018000804235&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2007-09342018000804235&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen Sinaloa es el principal productor de maíz a nivel nacional; sin embargo, la labranza excesiva y la práctica del monocultivo de maíz por más de 30 años, han ocasionado pérdida de fertilidad del suelo, menor retención de agua e incremento de costos de producción. Con el fin de evaluar el efecto del sistema de siembra directa (SD) en las propiedades físico-químicas del suelo y en la eficiencia en el uso del agua del cultivo de maíz, se realizó un estudio en el norte de Sinaloa, México durante tres ciclos agrícolas bajo riego por aspersión (pivote central), donde se establecieron los tratamientos 1) SD; y 2) labranza convencional de la región (LC) en 0.5 ha cada uno. Las propiedades del suelo evaluadas fueron materia orgánica (MO), densidad aparente (Da), porosidad total (E), pH y conductividad eléctrica (CE). Además, se instalaron dos estaciones fijas con sensores a tres profundidades del perfil (30, 60 y 90 cm) para medir la humedad aprovechable (HA) y temperatura del suelo (Ts). Los resultados mostraron que en el tercer ciclo la materia orgánica alcanzó un valor de 1.47% en SD, mientras que en LC se mantuvo 1%, el pH y la CE mostraron ligera disminución. Se observó también en SD mayor estabilidad de la humedad en el perfil del suelo, con un incremento del 4.62% de HA y una reducción de 1oC de Ts, lo cual permitió eliminar un riego de auxilio que representa un ahorro de 800 m3 ha-1. La eliminación de este riego, las labores de preparación del suelo y control de malezas redujeron 20% los costos de producción.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract Sinaloa is the main producer of corn nationwide, however, excessive tillage and the practice of monoculture corn for more than 30 years, have caused loss of soil fertility, lower water retention and increased production costs. In order to evaluate the effect of the direct seeding system (SD) on the physical-chemical properties of the soil and on the water use efficiency of the corn crop, a study was conducted in the north of Sinaloa, Mexico for three years&#8217; agricultural cycles under sprinkler irrigation (central pivot), where the treatments were established 1) SD; and 2) conventional tillage of the region (LC) in 0.5 ha each. The properties of the soil evaluated were organic matter (MO), bulk density (Da), total porosity (E), pH and electrical conductivity (CE). In addition, two fixed stations with sensors were installed at three depths of the profile (30, 60 and 90 cm) to measure the behavior of usable humidity (HA) and soil temperature (Ts). The results showed that in the third cycle the organic matter reached a value of 1.47% in SD, while in LC it remained 1%, the pH and the CE showed slight decrease. It was also observed in SD greater stability of humidity in the soil profile, with an increase of 4.62% of HA and a reduction of 1 oC of Ts, which allowed to eliminate an irrigation of relief that represents a saving of 800 m3 ha-1. The elimination of this irrigation and the work of preparing the land and controlling weeds reduced production costs by 20%.]]></p></abstract>
