Este trabajo reporta la forma en que un grupo de estudiantes del Colegio de Ciencias y Humanidades vivió este proceso. Sus experiencias permiten observar un patrón que va del alejamiento de la vida académica -pero no de la escuela- a un retorno que reconoce un nuevo significado para los estudios: el ejercicio de la libertad con responsabilidad. El análisis se basó en entrevistas narrativas autobiográficas y se interpretó con conceptos del enfoque de curso de vida (trayectoria, transición y turningpoint), que resultaron particularmente útiles en la comprensión de los datos.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Many Mexican students face severe changes in their passage from junior high to high school. One is their new status, with greater autonomy in their academic and nonacademic life. This article reports on the way a group of students at Colegio de Ciencias y Humanidades experienced such a process. Their stories reveal a pattern that starts at a distance from academic life (but not from school), and moves to a return that attaches new meaning to their studies: the exercise of freedom and responsibility. The analysis was based on autobiographical narrative interviews. The interpretation utilized concepts from the life course focus (trajectory, transition and turning point) that were particularly helpful in understanding data.]]></p></abstract>
