<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S0300-90412021000400003&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S0300-90412021000400003&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S0300-90412021000400003&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen  OBJETIVO:  Reclasificar biopsias de cuello uterino con LIE-AG-NIC2 utilizando hematoxilina eosina y p16, estimar la asociación de la clasificación errada con el factor de riesgo edad y determinar el desempeño diagnóstico de p16 para definir la existencia de LIE-AG.  MATERIALES Y MÉTODOS:  Estudio prospectivo, de serie de casos, llevado a cabo en la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Cartagena, Colombia. Se incluyeron biopsias de cuello uterino diagnosticadas durante un año con LIE-AG-NIC2. Se incluyeron casos con seguimiento (cono o histerectomía) y se excluyeron los que no tenían tejido archivado. La expresión de p16 se determinó mediante inmunohistoquímica. Los reclasificaron dos patólogos en dos grupos (&#8804;LIE-BG/&#8804;NIC1 y LIE-AG/&#8805;NIC2) aplicando hematoxilina eosina y p16. Para la reclasificación con p16 se aplicaron &#967;2 y prueba de Fisher y para hematoxilina eosina se tomó p16 como referencia. Se obtuvo la proporción de muestras reclasificadas y la OR de la relación de éstas con los grupos etarios (menos de 30 años y más o menos mayores de 30 años).  RESULTADOS:  Se incluyeron 39 casos. De los estudios de seguimiento, 10 de 39 resultaron negativos para LIE-AG/&#8805;NIC2. Dieciocho de los 39 casos evaluados con p16 se reclasificaron en &#8804;LIE-BG/ &#8804;NIC1, de estos 10 correspondieron a menores de 30 años. 15 de los 18 casos reclasificados como LIE-AG/&#8805;NIC2 pertenecían a pacientes &#8805; 30 años (OR = 0.368, IC95%: -1.53). La concordancia interobservador para determinar resultado &#8805; NIC2 con hematoxilina eosina fue pobre, y con p16 fue moderado.  CONCLUSIONES:  La evaluación de las biopsias de cuello uterino con el marcador p16, junto con hematoxilina eosina, tiene mayor reproducibilidad diagnóstica que solo utilizando hematoxilina eosina, que aumenta la concordancia interobservador y reduce el tratamiento innecesario, sobre todo en mujeres menores de 30 años.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  OBJECTIVE:  To reclassify cervical biopsies with LIE-AG-NIC2 using hematoxylin eosin and p16, to estimate the association of misclassification with risk factor age, and to determine the diagnostic performance of p16 in defining the existence of LIE-AG.  MATERIALS AND METHODS:  Prospective, case series study carried out at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Cartagena, Colombia. Cervical biopsies diagnosed during one year with LIE-AG-NIC2 were included. Cases with follow-up (cone or hysterectomy) were included and those without archived tissue were excluded. Expression of p16 was determined by immunohistochemistry. They were reclassified by two pathologists into two groups (&#8804;LIE-BG/&#8804;NIC1 and LIE-AG/&#8805;NIC2) applying hematoxylin eosin and p16. 2 and Fisher&#8217;s test were applied for reclassification with p16 with respect to reclassification with hematoxylin eosin, taking p16 as reference. The proportion of reclassified samples and the OR of the relationship of these with the age groups (less than 30 years and more or less older than 30 years) were obtained.  RESULTS:  Thirty-nine cases were included. Of the follow-up studies, 10 of 39 were negative for LIE-AG/&#8805;NIC2. Eighteen of the 39 cases evaluated with p16 reclassified to &#8804;LIE-BG/ &#8804;NIC1, of these 10 corresponded to those younger than 30 years. Fifteen of the 18 of the 18 of the cases reclassified as LIE-AG/&#8805;NIC2 belonged to patients &#8805; 30 years (OR = 0.368, 95%CI = 0.08-1.53). Interobserver agreement for determining outcome &#8805; NIC2 with hematoxylin eosin was poor, and with p16 was moderate.  CONCLUSIONS:  Evaluation of cervical biopsies with the p16 marker along with hematoxylin eosin has greater diagnostic reproducibility than only using hematoxylin eosin, which increases interobserver agreement and reduces unnecessary treatment, especially in women younger than 30 years.]]></p></abstract>
