Sin embargo, existen diversas plagas y enfermedades como la roya del cafeto que merma la producción de los campos cafetaleros, afectando la economía de los productores. Por ello, las investigaciones en mejoramiento genético y la propagación de esta especie han aumentado en los últimos años. Entre las técnicas de mejoramiento genético destaca la mutagénesis. No obstante, las plantas mutantes pueden presentar insensibilidad a estímulos hormonales. Es por ello que esta investigación evaluó el efecto de diferentes reguladores de crecimiento en la respuesta morfogénica de plantas mutantes obtenidas por mutagénesis química empleando metanosulfonato de etilo (MSE) durante los procesos de propagación in vitro. En etapa de propagación no se observó diferencia en la respuesta de plantas mutagenizadas y no mutagenizadas, teniendo la mayor obtención de brotes (5.1) con 6 mg L-1 de 6-Bencilaminopurina (BAP). En la etapa de rizogénesis in vitro se observaron diferencias en la respuesta morfológica de formación de raíces en plantas mutantes, obteniendo que la combinación de 3 mg L-1 de ácido naftalenacético y 3 mg L-1 de ácido indolbutírico generó mayor formación de raíces (83%).]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Summary: Coffea arabica is a species of economic interest in various countries, with Mexico standing out as one of the main exporters. However, there are several pests and diseases, such as coffee leaf rust, that reduce the production of coffee fields, affecting the economy of the producers. Therefore, research on genetic improvement and the propagation of this species has increased in recent years. Among the genetic improvement techniques, mutagenesis stands out. However, mutant plants may exhibit insensitivity to hormonal stimuli. For this reason, the research evaluated the effect of different growth regulators on the morphogenic response of mutant plants obtained through chemical mutagenesis using ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS) during in vitro propagation processes. During the propagation stage, no difference was observed in the response of mutagenized and non-mutagenized plants, with the highest shoot production (5.1) occurring with 6 mg L-1 of 6-Benzylaminopurine (BAP). In the in vitro rhizogenesis stage, differences were observed in the morphological response of root formation in mutant plants, with the combination of 3 mg L-1 of naphthaleneacetic acid and 3 mg L-1 of indolebutyric acid resulting in the highest root formation (83%).]]></p></abstract>
