El análisis permite identificar patrones temporales en las opiniones hacia la inversión extranjera, marcadas diferencias regionales e inconsistencias en las opiniones. Sugerimos que la influencia de condiciones objetivas está mediada por factores subjetivos, lo que provoca inconsistencias entre opiniones sobre los beneficios asociados con la inversión extranjera y las preferencias de política relacionadas con ella.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract This article analyzes the surveys made for Mexico, the Americas and the World between 2004 and 2012 to describe the opinions of the Mexican people with regard to the impact of foreign investment on Mexico, the importance of attracting investment as a foreign policy goal, and which sectors of the economy should be open to foreign investment. The analysis allows us to identify patterns of opinion towards foreign investment that change over time, marked regional differences, and inconsistencies of opinion. We suggest that the influence of objective conditions is colored by subjective factors, which gives rise to inconsistencies between opinions of the benefits associated with foreign investment and policy preferences in this regard.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="fr"><p><![CDATA[Résumé Cet article analyse les enquêtes du projet Le Mexique, les Amériques et le Monde entre 2004 et 2012 pour en tirer les opinions des mexicains sur les effets des investissements étrangers au Mexique, afin d'établir dans quelle mesure la politique étrangère aurait intérêt à les attirer et dans quels secteurs de l'économie il conviendrait de les permettre. L'analyse identifie des tendances variables des avis sur ces investissements, des différences marquées entre régions et des paradoxes dans les opinions. Nous estimons que l'influence des conditions objectives passe par le filtre d'éléments subjectifs, ce qui cause des tensions entre les avis évoquant les avantages associés aux investissements étrangers et une quelconque préférence politique à l'égard de ceux-ci.]]></p></abstract>
