Among the primary objectives of scientific communities in different countries is the training of future academics who will carry out the task of advancing the frontiers of knowledge of our civilization. This is a process whose extension has been growing in length in the last decades as a consequence of a wide spectrum of factors that go from the increasing specialization of the tasks associated with the acquisition of knowledge to the manifest economic feasibility of the final stages of this formative process. Postdoctoral fellowships should be the prelude to the autonomous life of a scientific researcher. That first independent flight in the spaces of knowledge. However, the mantra of “publish or perish”, that as ubiquitous Damocles sword hangs over a good part of the research groups has turned them into key pieces of the knowledge production procedure due to their high levels of academic training and their (often) meager wages.

For several years now, the CEIICH has had the fortune to welcome many academics from all over the world through postdoctoral stays. Their stays have taken place thanks to the scholarships granted fundamentally by the Coordination of Humanities of UNAM (fortunately generous from an economic point of view) and by the National Council for Science and Technology (Conacyt). These postdoctoral students have among their objectives the development of research associated with the Center’s programs and the dissemination of their results through the scientific publication system.

INTER DISCIPLINA, our journal, once again fulfills its objective of publishing articles that are the result of interdisciplinary research and critical reflection through the interaction between the sciences and the humanities. This specific number shows the great diversity and wealth of the work of our postdocs and their critical analyzes of the process of integration of knowledge. The dossier of this issue entitled Interdisciplinary Miscellaneous has the collaboration of researchers from countries such as Cuba, Spain, Italy, Lithuania and, of course, Mexico, showing the cultural and academic diversity of their different worldviews and researches on important topics such as racism, digital content, postpartisan utopias, violence and rebellion, probabilities and science of complexity, anthropology of education, emotions and cultural impacts, up to artificial intelligence, educational neuroscience, ethnic processes and poetry.

All this interdisciplinary repertoire is detailed in the following pages, and it is a watershed to continue supporting the great academic and interdisciplinary work of CEIICH postdocs.
