Abstract

MORALES ARROYO, Gilberto. Social Transgression and Ggender: Conceptual and Epistemological Notes for a Feminist Sociology of Transgression. Debate fem. [online]. 2020, vol.60, pp.1-23.  Epub Nov 27, 2020. ISSN 2594-066X.  https://doi.org/10.22201/cieg.2594066xe.2020.60.01.

This paper is a first analytical effort to constitute a feminist sociology of transgression. Based on the sociology of deviation, feminism and psychoanalysis, some notes are proposed to provide theoretical and epistemological content for concepts to enable us to understand the phenomenon of the rupture of the social order, characterized as the grammar of horror. First the conceptual basis of this proposal is explained. Then the author debates why the concept of deviation is insufficient for interpreting and understanding the rupture of the social order. Finally, the conceptual and thematic proposal that should be adopted by a sociology that seeks to make women’s bodies, behaviors and practices visible is presented. From a methodological point of view, this is an analytical theoretical debate that uses empirical references from the current social order in Mexico where necessary.

Keywords : Transgression; Violence; Deviation; Gender symbolism; Feminist criminology.
