This article addresses a relevant topic regarding forced internal displacement, highlights the effects of, and provides a reflection on, the displaced population, along with the vague and scant quantification of this phenomenon, which is due to the lack of a precise methodology. An introduction is provided regarding the different theoretical and methodological stages through which the first law on forced internal displacement in the country -for the state of Chiapas- had to be submitted to for discussion, validation and approval.
