Discussing and reflecting upon the teaching-learning process in design is extremely interesting, particularly when focusing on the role that the institution plays in the process of “training the trainers”. This paper presents teacher training strategies and activities which have been implemented as part of the Teacher Training Seminars in the Department of Design at the Universidad de la Salle Bajío.
Resources that have been used in these train the trainers spaces include the examination of professional experts’ experiences in the design sphere, and activities of visualization and projection of future scenarios, both in workshops and socialization of experiences. Emphasis is placed on the possibilities of problem-based learning as a didactic strategy.
The work carried out by peers has turned out to be an important constructive moment.
This paper shares some of the actions that are being carried out as an exercise in facing the challenges in the education of future designers.
