The purpose of this paper is to examine the actions that were implemented by the influence of postulates of eugenics to the public health institutions in Mexico and Jalisco during the postrevolutionary period. Through these actions, it was intended to form a strong, healthy and vigorous population (physically and morally), which could contribute to reach the goal for the national reconstruction regarding economic prosperity and modernization. The analysis of such actions focuses on four areas: the child care, the sexuality and the motherhood, the alcoholism, and the leprosy.
