Resumen

MENDOZA-ARVIZO, Ulises; GONZALEZ-MACIAS, Carlos Jesús  y  SANDOVAL-CHAVEZ, Diego Adiel. Technological Innovations and Performance in Maquiladora Industries. Investig. adm. [online]. 2022, vol.51, n.129, 00004.  Epub 21-Feb-2022. ISSN 2448-7678.  https://doi.org/10.35426/iav51n129.04.

Technological innovation capability is a fundamental premise for achieving competitiveness and strengthening the positioning of organizations. The objective of this work was to determine the structural nature of the association between technological innovation capacity and the resulting performance, in relation to quality strategies, job training and knowledge of a group of manufacturing organizations. Using a 27-item survey instrument, 142 manufacturing firms in Juarez, Mexico, were studied out of a universe of approximately 330. Results suggest that the successful development of technological innovations may depend on effective strategies that emphasize quality, knowledge, and job training, which would lead to high firm performance. The paper provides an overview of the model and a discussion based on the results. The study included only one city, so more studies are needed in different entities to confirm the findings and the correlations between the variables considered.
