Abstract

Innovation explains economic levels, business development and business performance, in the latter, the paradigm of open innovation, there is no exception, although there is ambiguity in its definition and use, so the objectives of this research Were to establish a clear definition of the concept, to show its complementarity with traditional innovation, to identify the strategies and practices used, and finally to show the relevance of the research through the bibliometric analysis of the publications of the theme. The main results reveal the use of the inbound, outbound and mixed open innovation strategy. The findings identified collaborative practices and external sources in the inbound open innovation strategy, and sales and revealed the outbound open innovation strategy. The main limitation of working with one database, so it is suggested to perform a more complete analysis.
