GARCIA FERNANDEZ, Francisco; SANCHEZ LIMON, Mónica L. y SEVILLA MORALES, José Ángel. Knowledge links of the maquiladora companies of the electronic electrical sector in Tamaulipas, Mexico. Case study. Investig. adm. [online]. 2014, vol.43, n.113, pp.28-44. ISSN 2448-7678.
The objective of this work is to identify and evaluate the ties established between electric/electronic maquiladora factories in Tamaulipas and local and foreign agents in order to promote development and increase competition and innovation. This work uses a multi-case study, particularly the Marin and Giuliani (2006) methodology. This approach allows to measure the ties in terms of frequency and stability, degree of cohesion, weak ties and the interdependency of the different agents studied. A classification of the firms on this study was obtained having weak local ties and strong headquarters ties. The evaluation of the ties allowed to classify them as Globally Diversified (Kemet and GE Energy), Globally Dependent (Simclar), Globally Independent (Deltronics) and Globally Isolated (Edemsa).
