Resumen

CHENA, Pablo Ignacio  y  NOGUERA, Deborah. Relationship between Informality and Integration in Global Value Chains. The case of Argentina (2004- 2015). Anál. econ. [online]. 2020, vol.35, n.90, pp.91-116.  Epub 15-Abr-2021. ISSN 2448-6655.

This article aims to measure the impact of Global Value Chains (GVCs) on informal economy and informal (unregistered) jobs. The empirical analysis focuses on Argentina during the period 2004-2015. The applied econometric methodology is a panel data model with fixed effects, which indexes workers and industries. The results highlight a significant and positive relationship between a greater internationalization of production in GVCs and the growth of informality, both for unregistered jobs and the informal economy; although the greatest effect is in the first case. However, regarding the form of insertion in GVCs, informality decreases when the proportion of domestic value added incorporated in total exports grows.
