Abstract

GONZALEZ GARCIA, Juan. Causes, evolution and prospects of the trade war for China. Anál. econ. [online]. 2020, vol.35, n.89, pp.91-116.  Epub Nov 13, 2020. ISSN 2448-6655.

In the text it has analyzed the trade conflict between the United States (US) and China, its antecedents, recent evolution and the prospects for the third decade of this century, in which it is considered, China will establish the bases to consolidate its long-term economic development model, supported by the economy oriented to the strengthening of its internal market. From this perspective, the economic impact that the trade war between the US and China has generated on the global Gross Domestic Product (GDP) international trade and particularly on the Chinese economy is analyzed, with a view to its goal of becoming an economic power in the XXI century. It is suggested that, in the short term, China has been more affected than the US, but in the long term, it will establish the basis for becoming a developed economy.

Keywords : commercial war; international trade; GDP; tariffs; agreement.
