Recently the literature discusses Routine Biased Technological Change Hypothesis (RBTC), which shows the presence of employment polarization that favors high and low skilled workers to the detriment of workers who perform routine tasks, however, this hypothesis tested in developing countries such as Mexico could show contrary results, for this reason, the objective of this research is to verify if the RBTC has been observed in Mexico. For this purpose, data from the National Occupation and Employment Survey (ENOE) from 2012 to 2018 is used; wages and the amount of labor that performs abstract, routine and manual tasks are analyzed; finally, quantile regressions are estimated to analyze wage returns for each group at different levels of distribution.
