Resumen
GOMEZ BELTRAN, Iván. Grindr and Masculinity (Hegemonic): Comparative Approach to Rejection of Feminity. Estud. sociol [online]. 2019, vol.37, n.109, pp.39-68. ISSN 2448-6442. https://doi.org/10.24201/es.2019v37n109.1644.
Throughout the text will attempt to reveal one of the strategies that unfold in the reproduction of masculinity as hegemony, that is, the rejection of the feminine and its projection as emasculation. The information has been collected directly from the profiles of the app Grindr, which provides social contact between men, in three different cities: two Spanish-speaking (Mexico City and Madrid) and another Anglophone (London). Through the comparison of profile information, will explore how the phenomenon of rejection of femininity in men -in this case mostly gay and bisexual- has to be understood as crosscutting in patriarchal societies.
