Resumen

HERNANDEZ-ZARATE, Cecilia  y  ALVAREZ CASTANON, Lorena del Carmen. Labor market and vocational guidance: dynamism and challenges in Guanajuato. Trascender contab. gest. [online]. 2023, vol.8, n.23, pp.33-52.  Epub 08-Dic-2023. ISSN 2448-6388.  https://doi.org/10.36791/tcg.v8i23.211.

This paper aimed to analyze wages and salaries, turnover and absenteeism, and job profiles in six productive sectors of Guanajuato -agribusiness, footwear, tannery, metalworking, plastics and automotive- to explain the impact of vocational guidance as a strategy of development. The methodological strategy was qualitative with an explanatory orientation; the analyzed data was collected with an instrument applied to those responsible for the human resources area through convenience sampling in 112 companies installed in the state. The main findings showed a significant labor dynamism in all the productive sectors studied and the labor incorporation of young university students -mainly from engineering areas- in national and foreign companies; however, there was evidence of a strong imbalance between labor supply and demand, high labor mobility from other federal entities and abroad, and a pattern of low wages and limited working conditions for university students.

Palabras llave : Productive vocation; Guanajuato; regional development.
