ORDAZ ALVAREZ, Arturo. Three classics of Public Administration theory in Mexico: Tadeo Ortiz, Luis de la Rosa and José María del Castillo. Trascender contab. gest. [online]. 2022, vol.7, n.20, pp.209-223. Epub 11-Nov-2022. ISSN 2448-6388. https://doi.org/10.36791/tcg.v8i20.167.
The study of Public Administration in modern times arose at the beginning of the 19th century with the work of the Frenchman Charles-Jean Baptiste Bonnin. During that century his study spread throughout the European continent, transcending to different countries in America. Mexico was not the exception. The purpose of this work is to analyze the work of three Mexican writers, which is a necessary reference to understand the development of this discipline in our country.
The work of Tadeo Ortiz de Ayala is addressed, whose book Mexico considered as an independent and free nation, or some indications about the most essential duties of Mexicans, dates from the year 1832. The work of Luis de la Rosa Oteiza, considered the Father of Public Administration in our country, revising his work Essay on the public administration of Mexico and means to improve it, of 1853. The third work that is reviewed is Essay on Mexican Administrative Law by José María del Castillo Velasco, published in 1874.
The importance of the classics is assumed in the understanding of their respective discipline. His ideas necessarily serve us in the definition and delimitation of the disciplinary field. But they are also useful when reflecting on current problems that require rethinking those ideas already decanted by time in terms of wisdom. In this work, documentary analysis was used. The original documents in reference were identified and located, to later analyze the central ideas of the authors studied.
