Higher education in Mexico is our object of study. In this paper, we intend to explain the trend of higher education policy towards the year 2030. We begin with the recommendations of international organizations for higher education in the world; then we work on the social and economic context of higher education in Mexico; and we conclude, with the perspective of higher education in Mexico towards the year 2030. We argue the continuation of the neoliberal policy of higher education, under the logic of academic capitalism, which mainly includes economic and social issues such as quality, equity, evaluation and financing, without emphasizing in the subjects of the sustainability like the care of the planetary life, global warming, reduction of CO2 and climate change.
